American Kestrel

This is something you don't see every day, and something that doesn't get photographed every day: Two American Kestrels mating.

    Hi, Dale -- Shell's friend Jeanie here! I've been pouring over your bird photos -- you are simply amazing. I'm so glad you decided to blog these! Last spring we went on a raptor watch with a naturalist who took us about the area where we discovered red tail hawks, kestrels, owls, and an albino hawk, among others. It was one of my favorite days. I wish I'd had your lens and your talent!

    Hi, Jeanie! Thanks for visiting and your nice comments. Raptors (especially red-tails and kestrels) are beautiful creatures. I have been very fortunate to capture the ones I have on "film". (No, I shoot all digital now.)
